“Elling Holland has spoken about what he would have done if he hadn’t played soccer,” the UK’s Sports Bible reported on Sunday.

Holland, who joined Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund ahead of the 2022-2023 season, has “bombed” the Premier League in his first season. He scored a multi-goal performance against West Ham United in the first round of the league without much of an acclimatization period, and now has 36 goals, eight assists, and 44 total offensive points in 35 league appearances.

Holland’s father, Alfie Holland, was also a soccer player. He played for Nottingham Forest, Leeds United, and Manchester City as a defender or central midfielder. He’s very decisive and seems to be a soccer player through and through.

We asked him what he would be like if he didn’t play soccer, and he answered the question himself.

“I expected to have a decent season, but I didn’t expect it to be this good, it’s been a fantastic season and I’m happy,” Holland said of his first season at City.

When asked what he would have done if he wasn’t a soccer player, he replied, “I would have been a welder or a farmer.”

In fact, Holland has often posted photos on his social media accounts of himself farming alongside his father, Alfinge. He was a skillful chopper and worked on a potato farm.

Meanwhile, back in 2020, Holland was asked the same question. His answer was slightly different: “A rapper, or a farmer,” he said, choosing musician over welder.
