‘April slump is over’ Lee’s unstoppable streak continues as he blasts solo shot against Flutko–nears triple digits in RBIs

The slump was just an aberration. Ki Sung-hoo is back on track. Not only is he making contact consistently, but the quality of his at-bats has improved. He hit a home run against Adam Plutko, who hadn’t lost a game this season.

Against Gochuk LG on July 7, Lee batted third and hit a line drive over the right field fence in his second at-bat of the third inning. After reaching base on an infield single in his first at-bat in the first inning, Lee took advantage of Plutko’s four-pitch cut fastball in the bottom of the third. The cut fastball didn’t quite stick to his body and he smashed it for a 110-meter solo shot.

Prior to this game, Plutko hadn’t lost a game in 11 starts this season. He remained unbeaten at 8-0 until he was hit by Lee Jung-hoo’s third pitch of the season 안전놀이터.

The home run gave Kiwoom a 2-1 lead. It was Lee’s sixth home run of the season and his second of the season, raising his batting average to .286.

After hitting just .218 in April, he’s batting .305 in the month of May and is hitting in the quadruple digits in June. At this rate, he’ll likely hit triple digits sometime this week.
