Arizona Renews Right-Hander Jack Davis’ 1-Year, $5M Contract

Foreign media such as ESPN reported on the 5th (Korean time) that “Arizona has agreed to a one-year, five million dollar (approximately 6.35 billion won) contract with free agent (FA) Davis.” The contract includes an incentive of 3 million dollars (approximately 3.8 billion won).

Davis was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the 26th round of the 2011 draft. Starting his minor career in Single A in 2012, he was promoted to Double A in 2014 and Triple A in 2015, gathering fans’ expectations as a promising player. 메이저놀이터

He made his big league debut in September after being traded to the Milwaukee Brewers in July 2015.

Davis played 11-7 in 28 games in 2016 and 17-9 in 33 games in 2017. However, he didn’t perform as well after that and he was traded to the San Diego Padres after the 2019 season.

After the 2020 season, he was traded again to the Chicago Cubs as part of the Darvish U trade.

Ahead of the 2022 season, he signed a one-year contract with Arizona. Davis went 2-5 with a 4.09 ERA in a starting rotation with Zach Gallon, Merrill Kelly and Madison Bumgarner at Arizona.

Arizona decided to renew the contract for one year, believing that Davis would be able to play a part in the starting rotation again this year.
