‘Kang So-hwi + Pyo Seung-joo 31 points’ Korea women’s volleyball loses to Poland led by Rabarani ‘for the second straight time’
I fought well, but the result was the same. Another loss.
The South Korean women’s national volleyball team, coached by Cesar Hernández González, fell 1-3 (22-25, 26-24, 21-25, 9-25) to Poland in the second match of the Paris 2024 Olympic Qualification Group C on Monday (Aug. 18) in Łódź, Poland. It was the second consecutive loss in qualifying after a 0-3 defeat against Italy in the first round.
Unlike their previous matches 굿모닝토토, Korea showed an equalized performance against the powerhouse and hosts Poland. They fought hard from the first set and took the second set in a deuce tiebreaker. In the third set, the Poles were relentless.
However, a sudden collapse in the fourth set resulted in less than 10 points in the set and a win for Poland.
Kang So-hwi (GS Caltex) led the team with 16 points, followed by Pyo Seung-ju (IBK) with 15 points. In the center line, Lee Ju-ah (Heungkuk Life) and Jung Ho-young (Jung Kwan-jang) also combined for six blocks and 17 points.
Moon Jung-won (Korea Expressway Corporation), who was named to the roster as a libero, played as a substitute in an attacker’s jersey instead of a libero.
South Korea will face Italy, Poland, Germany, the United States, Colombia, Thailand, and Slovenia. The team must finish in the top two out of eight teams after the pool play to qualify for the Paris Olympics.
Here’s a look at how they’ll fare against Germany in Game 3.
