Lee Dong-guk, ‘the protagonist of the Jeonbuk Dynasty’, “It’s true that it’s not good… Kim Sang-shik is having a hard time too”

Lee Dong-guk (44), who led the golden age of Jeonbuk Hyundai, felt sorry for the sluggish performance of his team.

The Korea Professional Football Federation held an induction ceremony for the K-League Hall of Fame at 11 am on the 2nd at Ambassador Seoul Pullman in Jangchung-dong, Seoul.

The ‘K-League Hall of Fame’ was newly established by the federation to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the K-League this year. It consists of three categories: player, leader, and contributor. Beginning this year, nominees will be selected every two years.

Suwon FC general manager Choi Soon-ho, Ulsan Hyundai coach Hong Myung-bo, Indonesia national team coach Shin Tae-yong, and Lee Dong-guk were named as the first inductees in the player category. Director Kim Jeong-nam was selected in the leader category, and Park Tae-joon, the late honorary chairman of POSCO, was selected in the contributor category.

Lee Dong-guk, who was selected in the 4th generation of players, also visited the site with his family. He said, “I am honored to be selected,” and “(Lee) Xian only watches me on YouTube, but it feels good to be able to show that I can stand in this position as a soccer player. 크크크벳

The story of Jeonbuk Hyundai, which reached its golden age with Lee Dong-guk, is also not missing. Lee Dong-guk wore the Jeonbuk uniform for 12 years from 2009. During the same period, he won the league eight times, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League (ACL) once, and the FA Cup once.

However, now Jeonbuk has lost its former splendor. With only 3 wins, 1 draw and 6 losses this season, they are down to 10th place in the relegation zone.

Lee Dong-guk said, “I’m watching from a fan’s point of view, but it’s true that it’s not good”, but “I think I need to trust and support him.” He said, “I feel like everything is a little out of place right now,” and “I hope to overcome it well enough and become stronger and return to the shape of Jeonbuk.”

When asked if he had a separate conversation with director Kim Sang-sik, he said, “It was very difficult.”
