PGA Championship’s ‘Thunderstruck’ block makes its way to Netflix
Michael Block (USA), the breakout star of the PGA Championship, a major on the U.S. Professional Golf (PGA) Tour, is set to star in a Netflix golf documentary.
Block’s story will be featured in season two of the Netflix documentary Full Swing, according to the U.K.’s Golf Monthly on Wednesday. According to the report, a Netflix crew and cameras were on site at the PGA Championship and focused on Block’s final round performance.
Block stood in front of the cameras at the PGA Championship alongside American golf journalist Daniel Rappaport, who appeared in season one of Full Swing, with a microphone. Rappaport later posted on social media, “Block’s story will be featured in Season 2 of ‘Full Swing’. Expect a tear or two,” he wrote on social media. The Netflix crew’s cameras also reportedly joined Block at the post-tournament celebration.
Block, a lesson pro at the golf club, was in the spotlight at the PGA Championship, which concluded on Aug. 22, when she tied for 15th place. Playing in the same group as Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland) in the final round, he made a hole-in-one, securing a spot in next year’s PGA Championship, which is awarded to the top 15 players in the tournament, and climbing 3003 spots to No. 577 in the world rankings 안전놀이터.
Block will next compete in the PGA Tour’s Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial CC (Par 70) in Fort Worth, Texas, beginning Sept. 25. “I’ve canceled all of my scheduled lessons for this week,” he said, adding that he hopes his sponsor-invited 120-player field will be understanding.
