Ruff will need a lot of rehab games as he has been sidelined for three months since early June with a non-displaced fracture in his right patella.

Ruff has made 57 plate appearances for the San Francisco Giants and Milwaukee Brewers this season, posting an offensive slash line of .224/0.333/0.286.

Meanwhile, Choi, who has been playing rehab games for the El Paso Chihuahuas, went 0-for-5 in 14 at-bats.
