Ulsan and Jeonbuk advance to Round of 16 in overtime… All eight quarterfinals will feature K League 1 teams

The quarterfinals of the 2023 Hana OneQ FA Cup will feature head-to-head matches between K League 1 teams.

Matchday 8 of the 2023 Hana OneQ FA Cup Round of 16 got underway on Thursday. Ulsan Hyundai, who are leading the K League 1, won 2-1 against Jeonnam Dragons at Gwangyang Football Stadium. After conceding an early goal to Hanam in the 18th minute of the second half, they were unable to equalize until the final minute of stoppage time, when the long-awaited equalizer came. Martin Adam headed the ball into the box and Im Jong-joong converted. Martin Adam seized the momentum and scored the game-winning goal in the first two minutes of overtime. Gustavo scored four goals, including two in the first half, to help the team advance to the quarterfinals.

Jeju United and Daejeon Hana Citizen played a back-and-forth match. Jeju took the lead with goals from Lee Ki-hyuk and Kim Seung-seop, but Daejeon responded with back-to-back goals from Masa and Leandro. In the 16th minute of the second half, Jeju striker Yuri regained the lead with a chip shot, but four minutes later, Daejeon’s Byun Jun-soo equalized from a corner kick. In the 26th minute of the second half, Daejeon defender Min Jun-young kicked the ball out of play and into the Daejeon goal. The goal gave Jeju the 4-3 victory 먹튀검증.

K League 1 clubs Pohang Steelers, Incheon United, and Gangwon FC scored three goals apiece against their K League 2 counterparts to advance to the quarterfinals. Pohang won 3-0 after Ha Chang-rae opened the scoring and Lee Ho-jae found the back of the net twice for Seongnam FC, led by his father Lee Ki-hyung. Incheon defeated Gyeongnam FC 3-0 with goals from Mpoku, Hong Si-hoo, and Jung Dong-yoon. Gangwon defeated top-ranked Gimpo FC in K League 2 thanks to a late “theater goal” from Gallego.

Gwangju FC and Suwon Samseong defeated Seoul Eland FC and Daegu FC 1-0 thanks to goals from Heo Yul and Kim Joo-chan, respectively. Including the two upsets, all of this season’s FA Cup quarterfinals were made up of K League 1 teams. Ulsan and Jeju, Incheon and Suwon, Pohang and Gangwon, and Jeonbuk and Gwangju will play the FA Cup quarterfinals on June 28.
